It's in production, but we'll have to wait a little longer.
The Gundam Conference Summer 2024, a press conference for the popular Gundam anime series, took place online on June 26th via Gundam Youtube channel. Fans were expecting news regarding the anticipated sequel to Gundam Hathaway, but no new information was released. However, Bandai Namco Filmworks producer Naohiro Ogata stated, "We are also working on a sequel to Hathaway." Please wait a little longer.
"Hathaway's Flash" is based on a novel published by director Yoshiyuki Tomino between 1989 and 1990. Set in the year 0105 of the Universal Century, the story follows Hathaway Noa, son of Bright Noa, who experienced a bitter separation during the Second Neo Zeon War. Hathaway pilots a new mobile suit, the Xi Gundam, in a rebellion against the Earth Federation government. The anime is directed by Shukou Murase, who also directed "Genocidal Organ," and the first part was released in 2021.
In 2021, it was announced that the tentative title for the second part would be "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash 'Sun of Bright'."
