The highly anticipated original serial drama "Mass-Produced Riko: The Last Plastic Model Girl's Life Assembly Record" will air on TV Tokyo on June 27th, 2024.
This is the third and final season in the popular drama series, following the popularity of "Mass-Produced Riko: A Plastic Model Girl's Life Story" (July 2022) and "Mass-Produced Riko: Another Plastic Model Girl's Life Assembly Story" (July 2023). The current season focuses on the concept of "family," showcasing Riko's summer with her family after returning to her parents' home.
Yoda Yuki, a renowned member of Nogizaka46, reprises her role as Riko in this new season. In an exclusive conversation, Yoda discussed her immediate response to the third season announcement.
"I was surprised," she explained. "I spent the summers with Riko last year and the year before, so I was looking forward to it and wondering what would happen this summer. Can I see Riko again?' I also had the feeling of 'No way...', therefore I'm really pleased that season 3 is now available."
Yoda underlined the need of real acting in bringing Riko's character to life again. "I was aware of acting naturally. The peculiarity of this series is that Riko, who has gone to Tokyo and works as a member of society, returns to her parents' house and spends her time naturally, which is unlike the previous series," Yoda noted. She hopes viewers will feel the warmth of coming home, which she describes as feeling similar to her own parents' house.
Reflecting on memorable moments, Yoda mentioned the plastic models linked to the storyline, such as the Kamen Rider in Season 2 and the RGM-79 GM in Season 1. As a lead actress, Yoda aims to maintain a collaborative and positive atmosphere on set. She recently experienced joy in sharing homemade cookies with the cast and crew, highlighting her sense of camaraderie.
Yoda finds the 3rd season's theme of "family" to be very meaningful. She appreciates her own family's support and sacrifices, and expresses a wish to repay them. Yoda offered a personal experience about bringing her parents to sushi as a gesture of gratitude and pride.
Yoda's personal interests and long-term commitments include her cat and junior coworkers at Nogizaka46. She also expressed her love for the Gundam series, which coincided with Nogizaka46's ninth anniversary. Reflecting on her journey, Yoda attributed her survival in the group to the encouragement of those around her, recalling her initial challenges and ultimate tenacity.
